Once upon a time, there was a begger and an extremely kind-hearted young gentleman. Each month, this kind-hearted man gave $1 000 to the beggar. This continued until one day, the kind-hearted man got married. To his best ability, he can only afford $500 for the beggar every month.
When the beggar received $500 from the kind-hearted man, instead of being thankful, he got angry at him for giving him less money! The kind-hearted man explained his position to the beggar but the beggar was still not happy.
Some time later, the kind-hearted man had a child. Now he can only give the beggar less than $200 a month. The beggar was furious. He blamed the kind-hearted man for spending his money on others. (Isn't it ridiculous of the beggar to claim that the $1000 is HIS money?!)
Well, this story is rather exaggerated... hope there isn't anyone like this beggar in real life! But still, I think it is a story to remind us that everything we have in our life are gifts to us. Just like the $1 000, $500 or even less than $200, were gifts from the kind-hearted gentleman to the beggar. Be thankful and cherish what we have, instead of complaining about what we don't have or be angry/upset over the things we lose.
